Sixth Stage “Lower Lusatian Mining Tour”: Forst (Lausitz) - Spremberg

In Forst (Lausitz), the East German Rose Garden and the Forst Museum (from autumn 2025) invite you to visit. From Forst (Lausitz), the route leads through several small villages to Döbern. The two most important industries in the region were linked in Döbern: Lignite and glass. Glass has been produced in Döbern since 1867. From Döbern, you cycle along secluded cycle paths through the landscape of the Muskauer Faltenbogen to Bohsdorf. Here you can visit the Erwin Strittmatter memorial, the original setting for the Strittmatter family trilogy ‘The Shop’, in a shop that is true to the original 1920s. In Hornow, a detour to the Confiserie Felicitas chocolate factory awaits you. The route continues through several small villages with interesting churches and regional museums to Spremberg.
